Geïnspireerd op het boek 'In stilte' van de Nederlandse filosoof Jan-Hendrik Bakker, maakten Lucas Derycke en Hadewijch Vanhaverbeke een radiodocumentaire over drie historische kluizenaars en hun hedendaagse tegen- of medestanders. Komen aan bod: monnik, dichter en heremiet Thomas Merton, schrijver Henry Thoreau en terrorist Ted Kaczynski.

‘Rebelse Stilte’ werd begeleid door Jair Stein en uitgezonden op NPO Radio 1.
In 2020 werd het stuk opgepikt door het radioprogramma Zandman op Radio 1.
If there was anything that was uncomfortable, it was my social situation and that's because I didn't want anybody to know about me living in the van, because I was worried that Duke University would kick me out. I didn't tell anybody, I was very secretive. And of course that made it very difficult to form good relationships on campus. So it was an extremely lonely period for me. I believe it took about two and a half months before I had a meaningful conversation with someone.
